The beaches of Flamborough
Image B2 : Reighton Sands looking south-east (Ref: TA 141 765)

At low tide there is a gently sloping, sandy beach at Reighton.  The beach in Filey Bay is 8km long and has a 'zeta form'.  Here at Reighton (6km from Filey Brigg) the beach is about 130m long at low water, and has a gentle gradient of around 1-3 degrees.  This view shows the runnel.  To the right of the picture is the steeper upper beach and to the left the break-point bar.
